Amongst the 18 Purana composed by Ved Vyas, Shrimadbhagwat holds utmost importance as the holiest Purana. In this scripture the various stories of Krishna Leela have been narrated in the most beautiful manner. The scripture has stories of Lord Krishna in his supernatural and divine form. Apart from the tales, there are accounts of the devotees of Krishna and their stories of attaining salvation. In this Mahapurana, there are 18 thousand verses, 12 wings and 335 chapters. Shrimadbhagwat recital and the Yagya take about 7days to complete. Just like Ganga is superior amongst rivers and Kashi is above all the pilgrimages likewise, Shrimadbhagwat is highest revered scripture amongst other Puranas. It is the sacred most scripture in the Hindu and Vaishnav sects.
